Wednesday, 07 July 2010 22:34

The SFSTP (Société Française des sciences et Techniques Pharmaceutiques) and the AFF (Association Française du Froid) have joined forces to offer you the second Cold Chain event. The objective is to bring together the pharmaceutical, transport and packaging worlds with the official organisations so as to present the works of the “Practical Guide to the Cold Chain” mixed commission.

The scope of the works this year will relate to all health products (reagents, blood products) and distribution circuits will be envisaged to the final recipient (hospital, pharmacy).

Sofrigam, privileged partner in this event, and its team will be delighted to welcome you.

Cold chain and dispensing pharmacists
Tuesday, 16 March 2010 23:58

Following a number of discussions with the French pharmacists association, it has become clear that dispensing chemists and hospital pharmacists do not possess the same level of information regarding the necessity of respecting the cold chain for thermosensitive products. Even more serious is the fact that pharmacists wishing to set up a logistics system tailored to the needs of thermosensitive products are challenged by the following questions:

  • What are the recommendations for conservation of certain products?
  • What are the risks if the cold chain is not respected? What are the product tolerances?
  • What equipment should be used (e.g. refrigerators) and where should it be purchased?
  • What instructions should be given to patients with regard to the conservation of their medicines?

In order to answer these questions, Sofrigam is organising a series of round table discussions in association with the magazines "Plateaux Techniques" and "Profession Pharmacien". The concept is simple: around fifteen dispensing and clinical pharmacists will be gathered together to discuss the different issues and the representatives of a number of major pharmaceutical laboratories will be invited to respond to their questions and offer advice. The first of this series of discussions will take place in Paris on 11 March 2010.
